What is Camelot?

    Camelot is the dream.  Camelot is what our school would be if we could have it any way we wanted it.  Camelot is exactly what you would picture in your mind if you were to close your eyes and envision the perfect school for our kids.  Try it, close your eyes and dream. Dream big!  There, now that you’ve caught a glimpse of Camelot let’s figure out how to get there from here.

   First things first, Camelot is not Camelot if you are not there.  Maybe it is, but it’s like that tree that fell in the forest. How do you know that it made a sound? The very first thing that has to happen if we are going to build Camelot is that we all have to make the decision to show up at the same plot of land so we can build it.  It’s going to take us all. We don’t want to build a castle without the concrete guy, or the landscape guy, or the plumber, or the countertop guy…Had to throw that in.  Make your own personal decision to “show up” because we need you. Without you, yes you, personally, we are going to fall short.  We will do our absolute best to make sure “showing up” is easy and fun.

     Now that you’re with us and you want to know what you can do, did you know Kroger has pledged money to WMC?  All we have to do is get you to arrange that payment by shopping there.  Flash Market Citgo stations have pledged money to WMC also but only if you buy your gas there.  Colton’s, Margaritas, Bonanza, Sicily’s, Veano’s, the Oriental Buffet, the Shake Shack, etc have all pledged money to WMC if you will use your restaurant card.  Many hair salons, nail salons, tanning shops, fitness clubs and clothing stores etc have also signed up to support the school if you will only support them and use your card.  This list will continue to grow, that is the pledge of “The Knight’s of the RD Table”.  Our job is to arrange places that, when you spend a dollar, a percentage goes to your child’s school.  We don’t want you to go broke buying and eating candy bars.  We want you to help us get the community to support us and they are willing! So PLEASE support them and let them know you appreciate them and what they are doing for us by using your cards.  All of us together can raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the school in this community if we will only pull a card out of our wallets and say “Thanks!”.

      In addition to getting the community to support us you can support us by taking part in the entertainment and fun that will be found in Camelot.  Come and hang out in CameLatte’ and enjoy coffee, sodas, etc with friends and check your email on the free wifi.  Drop the little kids off at “Big Knights Out” when it opens and support the Knight Club which will be the hang out for your teen children.  Come to dinners held to benefit school programs.  Enjoy yourself while you “accidentally” support Camelot!

       When you pictured Camelot earlier were there lights shining down on a new football stadium, or did you hear the squeak of tennis shoes on a new basketball court?  Did you see lab equipment, computers, landscaped grounds and new pavement and carpet?  The elementary and daycare needs upgrades and remodeling.  Please take the time to picture these things and then decide to be a part of making them happen. We’ll make it easy, we’ll make it fun and we’ll need you!

Camelot is Counting on You!

Get involved and get your friends and family involved.  Be diligent in your use of the cards each and every time you spend a dollar.  The secret is sheer volume.  By yourself you can help a little but with everyone together we can pay for our building, build a gym, build a football field, pay our teachers better and make our school into Camelot!
